A softer way to show up

Hi Reader,

Over the past two weeks, we’ve talked about something a lot of us feel…but don’t always name.

The pressure of feeling behind.

And the shift from forcing consistency to moving with rhythm.

But what does that actually look like in real life?

Let's talk about it. But first...

Affirmation

Say it with me:

I am allowed to move in a way that supports my life, not competes with it.

Because your life isn’t something you work around.
It’s something you should allow space for.

Story Time

Lately, this has looked very different for me in real life.

Instead of trying to keep everything moving at once…
I started being honest about what actually fits into my life right now.

So I stopped forcing things that didn’t.

I stopped trying to “keep up” with content, especially the kind that felt disruptive to my day.

For e.g., I know IG series work well for me.
But quick, fun reels?
That’s not where I am right now.

And instead of shaming myself for not being “on” like that…
I leaned into what feels natural, creating in seasons, like a TV show.

I also stopped saying yes to everything.

Even things I liked.

Because I realized liking something doesn’t mean it fits in this season.

So I let go of projects.
I stepped back from things I used to run.

Not because they didn’t matter, but because I needed to refocus.

And on a day-to-day level…

My life isn’t some perfectly optimized routine.

It’s:
getting my kids ready,
school drop-offs,
work,
coming back home after kid pickups,
family time,
bedtime routines…

and then finding small pockets of time for myself:
to work out,
to read,
to write,
to just be.

Which means a lot of things are intentionally… not happening.

I’m not posting everywhere.
I’m not launching anything new.
I’m not saying yes to every opportunity.

Not because I fell off, but because I chose to focus.

And when everything still feels like a lot?

I don’t try to power through it anymore.

Sometimes I pause.
Sometimes I cry.

And then I decide what actually matters right now.

Some days, that looks like choosing a workout, instead of posting content.

Some days, it looks like focusing on work, instead of writing something new.

Some days, it looks like choosing my family because I can feel they need me more in that moment.

And I keep coming back to this idea:

When everything feels overwhelming, it’s usually a sign that everything feels equally urgent.

But it’s not.

The key is, you just have to decide what matters most and move from there.

Reflection

Here’s what I want you to hold onto...

Your life doesn’t move all at once.

Some things will need your energy.
Some things will have to wait.

And that doesn’t mean you’re falling behind.

It means you’re making real-life decisions.

And if you’ve been feeling stretched lately...
I hope this gives you permission to move a little differently too.

See you *next* Tuesday,

Hi Reader, Have you ever walked into a room thinking... "I hope they see that I belong here." Maybe it's a new job.A meeting.A speaking opportunity.A networking event. And without realizing it, you spend more energy trying to prove yourself than simply showing up. Let's talk about it. But first... Affirmation Say it with me: I do not have to prove I belong. I belong because I showed up prepared and as myself. Because the room doesn't need another version of someone else. It needs the version...

Hi Reader, You know what’s interesting about opportunities you really want? They can make you forget yourself a little. Suddenly, you start thinking:How can I sound more impressive?More polished?More professional? And before you know it…you’re no longer leading with your actual strengths. Let's talk about it. But first... Affirmation Say it with me: I do not have to overcomplicate myself or be perfect to be credible. Because simple and clear will always land better than forced and perfect....

Hi Reader, I had the same conversation twice recently. Once in a message…and again with a college grad I spoke to last week. Different people.Different stages of life. But the same underlying question: “What does it actually mean to build a personal brand?” Let's talk about it. But first... Affirmation Say it with me: I don’t have to show up like everyone else to build a personal brand. Because there isn’t one way to show up...and there never was. Story Time In both conversations, I noticed...
