Think Recalibrating, Not Quitting

Hi Reader,

Ever hear a small voice in your head that whispers, “You’re slipping” when you feel like you're not being consistent?

Today’s edition is for you.

Affirmation

Say it with me:

Missing a moment doesn't erase my momentum.

Story Time

If I’m honest, skipping last week’s newsletter made me nervous.

But another part of me — the one that’s learning sustainability in real time — said, “No, you’re recalibrating.”

It wasn’t planned.
It was one of those heavy stretches when work deadlines, home life, and the general noise of being human all collided.

I told myself I could push through. After all, “showing up” is what consistent people do, right?

But the truth was, I was running on empty.
Low sleep. Too many tabs open, literally and mentally.
And that familiar mix of guilt and fear started creeping in: What if skipping one email makes me look inconsistent? What if my audience loses trust?

Then I remembered something I say all the time: sustainable success includes rest.
And if I truly believe that, then I have to practice it, especially when it’s inconvenient.

So I paused.
I closed my laptop.

I gave myself permission to protect my capacity instead of performing consistency.

Reflection

Here’s what I learned: missing one moment doesn’t erase your momentum.
Your audience (the right audience) cares more about your humanity than your posting schedule.

We’re so used to equating consistency with frequency,
But sustainable brands are built on alignment, not output.
Sometimes the most strategic move is to step back, breathe, and return with intention.

That’s the part no one talks about.
Pauses are necessary, especially when life is heavy, chaotic, or packed.

Something to Try:

If you’ve been running on fumes, try this over the next two weeks:

  1. Pause: Name what’s been draining your energy lately. Be honest.
  2. Recalibrate: Ask yourself, “What’s one thing I can do slower, or not at all, for the next two weeks?”
  3. Re-enter: Choose one small, nourishing way to show up again. Not to prove you’re consistent, but to practice sustainability.

Because showing up with capacity is what keeps you steady.
And steady is what builds trust.
