Feeling Stretched Thin? Let’s Change That

Hi Reader

Ever heard that there's power in small joys and smart boundaries?

Let's talk about it.

Affirmation

Say it with me:

It's okay for me to feel it all while finding ways to move forward.

Personal Brand Tip

Less is more.

Building a personal brand as a multi-hyphenate woman is not about doing more. It’s about making space for what truly aligns with you.

And I bet you’re saying, “Tamara, I don’t have space. I’m stretched thin 😫

And I hear you.

But here’s the truth (and I say this in the least dismissive way):

👉🏾 You don’t need more time. You need more clarity.

You can make intentional choices in your life and brand to create space for growth. Here’s how:

3 Ways to Make Room for What Matters in Your Life & Brand

1️⃣ Declutter Your Commitments

  • Just because you can do something well doesn’t mean it’s meant for you. And just because you can fix something doesn’t mean you have to.
  • Example: Start removing busybody events and tasks from your calendar.
  • If something doesn’t align, release it.

2️⃣ Set Boundaries with Your Time & Energy

  • Work with your natural rhythm, not against it.
  • Example: Instead of forcing a rigid daily routine, identify when you have the most energy and use those days or times to grow your brand.
  • Treat your time and energy like a weekly paycheck – spend them wisely.

3️⃣ Simplify Your Strategy

  • Redefine what “showing up” means.
  • Example: Instead of thinking that showing up means posting three times (3x) a week, recognize that it also means sharing or contributing to meaningful conversations about your passions.
  • Less but better.

Final Takeaway: When you let go of what doesn’t serve you, you create room for what truly aligns.

Story Time

A few weeks ago, I shared at work that I had read two novels and tried making my first pot roast over the weekend.

It was just a simple weekend. A snapshot of enjoying my home. Nothing extraordinary.

Honestly? I never thought that would be me—finding joy in seemingly mundane things. But I did.

All week, people asked: "How’d you do it? How did you finish two books in a weekend?"

And all I could say was:

👉🏾 I traded one thing for another.
I traded my phone for a book.

Partly because my oldest daughter inspired me.

But also?

Because I needed a reprieve. A way to escape the insanity of the news.

A way to give myself peace in the midst of it all.

I don’t know if my answer satisfied anyone. Maybe they were looking for some magical time-management hack.

But I had none.

No magic tricks. No grand plan. Just a decision to choose joy where I could find it.

And I hope you do the same.

Think: Where can you find your own small joys this week?
